Bem Vindo A Bonito!

Artemis helped us in choosing a location to travel to for a vacation for three. She recommended Bonito and was so wonderful to set up everything, including flights, hotels and car rental. We were so thankful to have such a generous friend along with us. The best part was that it was Artemis' first time in Bonito as well, so we all got to explore this new place together.

We stayed the first night on a secluded ranch called Hotel Santa Esmerelda. Following are photos from our first day in Bonito:

After exploring the grounds, swimming and showering, we decided to lounge in the cabana by the pool while we waited for the dining room to open for dinner. We drank "carparnhas," a new favorite of ours (vodka on the rocks with crushed lime) and snacked on some pieces of fresh fish.

And then the monkeys came! They were common as squirrels!

After dinner we wound down the day with an invigorating game of pool. At this point in the trip we were so relaxed. We had no idea the adventures that were still in store!
