Harrigan and I took a retreat upstate, where we dug for treasure at antique malls and talked till we had no words left. This past week, Dan has been on Spring break and the stay-cation has given us treasured time to live life together. How easily days slip by when you are distracted by work! This week we have slept in wrapped in each other's arms, enjoyed a pot of tea every morning, lunched together, cleaned house together, enjoyed movies at night, found ourselves downtown at 1am on a weeknight and slipped into a bar for a beer just because we can. We may never enjoy these kinds of days again and I want to take this moment to remember them.
We were also able to enjoy a weekday afternoon together with friends who don't work "normal" jobs. Harrigan (a student at Columbia), Jason (who took the day off to spend with us), Demian (a freelance designer),
and Justice (Demian's "little boss")
all met at The Little Owl in the West Village to try what has been dubbed by a british publication as the best burger in the world. A quaint, intimate little corner cafe with a british-rustic ambiance, the burger didn't quite fill it's big shoes, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Afterward, we meandered the streets of the West Village,
casting our cares to the wind for a day.

How sweet this time is for the two of you! So thankful for having you both in our lives. Can't wait to see you next :)
Loved this post, sweet friend! I love the way you're embracing the "good stuff" that this time of life is bringing. I know God will provide in His time... for now that provision is not financial but soulful and relational. Thanks for sharing your great day with us! I almost feel like I was there!
