Vacation 2009: First stop, Los Angeles!

We are finally deep in the midst of a much needed and long awaited vacation. We left Thursday morning for Los Angeles to celebrate Andrew's wedding. Having family friends across the nation really helps us to save on lodging, while also giving us the ability to explore the more "local" areas of the country. This trip we stayed with Jay who has an apartment right on Hermosa Beach. It was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the West Coast weather. All that sun and heat without the humidity makes it quite pleasant.

No trip to LA is complete without a convertible to drive around in. Dan was really excited when I convinced him to go with the cheaper option. The PT cruiser!


Hermosa Beach is a biking town, so Dan and I had no complaints. We went for a walk to explore the town and beach before Jay came home and took us out to dinner at his favorite local spot. Here's a collection of pictures from our first evening.
