Coming out of a cave

The deadline is finally over...

I submitted my first FF&E package ever at 3:45am on Saturday. As I walked out of the office onto Broadway, and exhaustingly flagged down a cab at 4:15am, I had so many emotions rolling through. I had no idea where to even focus my thoughts with the little energy I had left.

I snuck into my apartment and crawled into my bed, pressing my body as close to Dan's as possible. It took everything in me not to wake him up so I could ramble all the thoughts that were going through my mind. I couldn't unwind. My head was full of thoughts about what I could have done better, how I could have avoided this work overload, and what steps were going to come next. On top of that was the mental list of all the things I'd put on the back burner to meet this deadline. It was terrible. The one thing I wanted was sleep and it was the last thing my body would do. I was up again at 8:45, unable to sleep any longer.

It has taken quite a few days to get "back to normal," although, truthfully I don't quite feel myself yet. We were not made to work like machines. I thank the Lord that I was made for love, laughter, and companionship. I thank God for my husband, without whom I would not have made it through the months of March and April. Below are some highlights that flew by while I was unable to do anything but work and sleep:

**I flew home to visit Kati, where we spent the weekend catching up over coffee and morning sunshine.

**Mice and cockroaches showed up in our apartment :) wonderful...

**An highschool friend, Zach, came to visit with his girlfriend. A great distraction and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy memories with an old friend.

**I was invited by Kent State University to come back and sit on the Jury for senior thesis design presentations on May 8th; an incredible honor and opportunity to give back. Plus I get to be home for a few days again :) always a plus...

**We signed a lease on a new apartment (so long rodents!) and have decided to cohabitate with our dear friends Lucas and Dorothee. Along with this comes feelings of nastalgia. We will miss this place. Our first Brooklyn apartment and the first place we have really made into a home, just the two of us. We will now embark on a new journey as we grow our family to 4. Living and learning in new ways. More on the transition later. For now, we appreciate prayers for this crazy fast move, which will happen on May 3rd (if all goes as planned).
