After a morning jog on the beach at sunrise and some sad good-byes to the family, we hopped on a plane and continued on our crazy journey. This time we were headed to Michigan where Dan and I had been asked to sing in Emily Liddell and Eric Tosh's wedding. Here's how the plan was supposed to go:
Fly from Savannah to Atlanta for a quick layover and connection up to Flint, Michigan where we were scheduled to land at 2pm and be picked up by a groomsman to be taken to the church to rehears with the band and then attend the rehearsal dinner, etc...
But because travel never really goes as planned, the weather forced us to ground the plane in Agusta, GA before finally flying to Atlanta where we'd already missed our connecting flight. Needless to say we missed the rehearsal and had no ride. A last minute car rental and $300 later, we finally made it just in time for the end of the dinner.
Saturday I was able to squeeze in a visit to the old furniture store where I used to work and a coffee date with Tamra. The wedding was beautiful and Dan and I were really blessed to be able to lead worship together again. An old love we had long since forgotten. We spent some good time with Angela and Brittany and left the rehearsal early so Dan and Jon could pack for their backpacking trip in Canada as I prepared for my trip to London. A quick kiss good-bye at 5am as I headed back to work across the ocean, Dan and I felt ripped apart at the end of a wonderful vacation together.
And just like that...onward and upward!
